Visegrad+Armenia(Yerevan, RA regions): New Initiatives for Expanding Intercultural Cinema-Dialogue

One of the priorities of the Gombolyag Foundation (Hungary) is the promotion of art and culture among children and youth and the aim of the BUSHO Film Festival is development of cultural identity by motivating young filmmakers to common activities.

JUNIORFEST (the Czech Republic) throughout its activity has been actively promoting European (Czech) film production among children/youth that is not always available in the domestic commercial film distribution.

Activities of the HumanDoc Foundation (Poland) and the Festivalare aimed at building and raising the social awareness about integration, developing contact/cooperation between communities to support imparting knowledge, values, developing skills through organizing cultural/education events (festivals, meetings, workshops, etc.).

International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! (Poland) throughout its activity has been actively educating children/youth, presenting global and local (Polish) film selection, collecting rich experience and acting as a family.

ALEF FILM & MEDIA (Slovakia) develops, produces and distributes cinematographic films and audio-visual projects of various types and genres. One of the main method of project realization is the co-operation with various partners both in Slovakia and abroad.

Association of Slovak Film Clubs (ASFK) (Slovakia) is the organizer of the 2 biggest traveling Festivals in Slovakia-International Film, TV and Video Tour FEBIOFEST and PROJEKT 100, which support promotion of Slovak films among wider audiences.

 

Project Description

The aim of the project is creation of appropriate conditions for deepening/expanding intercultural cinema-dialogue (engaging participants from Georgia) for promotion of V4 culture/heritage in Armenia (Yerevan/RA regions) involving maximally large audiences using 14th Rolan IFF for Children and Youth as a supporting stage.

Dates of the Project: 06-10 of November 2018

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

in Yerevan:

· “Visegrad Film days” (film screenings and discussions with cinematographers from V4),

· Creative meetings in specialised universities/institutions, schools, etc.,

· Press conference,

· Meetings with mass media.

in RA regions:

· “Visegrad Film days” (film screenings in 5 regions and discussions with cinematographers from V4 in 2 regions),

· “Visegrad+Armenia: Dialogue in Cinespace” – 2 round-table discussions in Gyumri (Shirak region) and Vanadzor (Lori region),

· Creative meetings in Gyumri (Shirak region) and Vanadzor (Lori region) in specialized universities/institutions; schools, orphanages, etc.,

· Meetings with regional mass media.

· “Visegrad! Welcome to Armenia!” preparation of a documentary short film

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad    Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
